Extrinsic phonon thermal Hall transport from Hall viscosity

چکیده

Motivated by recent experiments on the phonon contribution to thermal Hall effect in cuprates, we present an analysis of chiral transport. We assume behavior arises from a non-zero vicosity, which is likely induced coupling electrons. Phonons with viscosity have intrinsic conductivity, but Chen et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 124, 167601 (2020)) argued that significantly larger conductivity can arise extrinsic inversely proportional density impurities. solve Boltzmann equation for transport and compute temperature ($T$) dependence originating skew scattering off point-like find dominant source interference between impurity channels opposite parity. The $\sim T^{d+2}$ at low $T$ $d$ dimensions, has window $T$-independent $T > T_{\rm imp}$, where $T_{\rm imp}$ determined ratio potentials also consider role non-specular sample boundary, it leads negligible corrections $T$.

Viscosity of quantum Hall fluids.

The viscosity of quantum uids with an energy gap at zero temperature is non-dissipative and is related to the adiabatic curvature on the space of at background metrics (which plays the role of the parameter space). For a

Quantized thermal transport in the fractional quantum Hall effect

We analyze thermal transport in the fractional quantum Hall effect ~FQHE!, employing a Luttinger liquid model of edge states. Impurity mediated interchannel scattering events are incorporated in a hydrodynamic description of heat and charge transport. The thermal Hall conductance KH is shown to provide universal characterization of the FQHE state, and reveals nontrivial information about the ed...

Phonon-limited transport coefficients in extrinsic graphene.

The effect of electron-phonon scattering processes on the thermoelectric properties of extrinsic graphene was studied. Electrical and thermal resistivity, as well as the thermopower, were calculated within the Bloch theory approximations. Analytical expressions for the different transport coefficients were obtained from a variational solution of the Boltzmann equation. The phonon-limited electr...

Giant Extrinsic Spin Hall Effect due to Rare-Earth Impurities

We investigate the extrinsic spin Hall effect in the electron gas model due to magnetic impurities, by focusing on Ceand Yb-impurities. In the dilute limit, the skew scattering term dominates the side jump term. For Ce-impurities, the spin Hall angle αSH due to skew scattering is given by −8πδ2/7, where δ2 (≪ 1) is the phase shift for d (l = 2) partial wave. Since αSH reaches O(10 ) if δ2 > ∼ 0...
